The Da Fit app is the companion application for all COLMI smartwatches and smart rings. It's the bridge between your wearable's sensors and the health insights you actually care about — the place where raw data becomes meaningful information about your sleep, fitness, heart rate, stress, and daily activity. Yet many COLMI users only scratch the surface of what Da Fit can do, using it primarily to check a sleep score or glance at their step count without exploring the deeper functionality that makes it a genuinely powerful health monitoring tool.

This complete guide covers every significant feature and setting in the Da Fit app, explaining what each does, how to configure it correctly, and how to use it to get the most from your COLMI device.

Getting Started: App Structure Overview

Da Fit is organised into four main tabs accessible from the bottom navigation bar:

  • Home (Health tab): Your daily health summary — the first screen you see when opening the app, showing today's step count, calories, heart rate, sleep score, and other key metrics at a glance
  • Activity: Detailed workout data, GPS routes for outdoor sessions, and exercise history
  • Device: Your connected watch or ring's settings, configuration options, watch face management, and notification preferences
  • Profile (Me): Your personal data, account settings, health goals, and app preferences

Most users primarily use the Home tab for daily health checking and the Device tab for configuration. Power users also regularly explore the Activity tab for workout analysis and the Profile tab for fine-tuning health goals and display preferences.

The Home Tab: Reading Your Daily Health Summary

The Daily Summary Cards

The Home tab displays scrollable summary cards for each health metric tracked by your COLMI device. The default order typically shows steps, calories, heart rate, sleep, and stress, though this can be customised in app settings. Each card shows today's reading alongside a mini-chart or progress indicator. Tapping any card opens the detailed view for that metric.

Steps and Daily Activity

The steps card shows your current day's step count, estimated calorie burn, and active distance. The circular progress indicator fills as you approach your daily step goal. A tap opens the detailed activity view showing your step count plotted across the day in hourly increments — allowing you to see which times of day you're most active and which periods are sedentary.

The weekly view (accessible by tapping "Week" at the top of the detail screen) shows your daily step counts for the past 7 days as a bar chart, with your 7-day average displayed prominently. This weekly view is more useful for genuine health monitoring than any individual day's count, as it smooths out the natural variability between high-activity and low-activity days.

Heart Rate

The heart rate card shows your current heart rate reading, your resting heart rate for today, and your highest and lowest readings of the day. Tapping opens a detailed view with a continuous heart rate chart plotted across the full day — each measurement point plotted as your watch or ring sampled throughout the day and night.

The most important reading in this view is your resting heart rate — shown as the lowest recorded reading during periods of inactivity, usually overnight or early morning. Track this number daily. A consistently declining resting heart rate over weeks indicates improving cardiovascular fitness. A sudden 5+ bpm elevation above your recent baseline often indicates illness onset, overtraining, or elevated stress before you subjectively feel it.

Switch to the weekly or monthly view using the tabs at the top of the detail screen to see your resting heart rate trend over time — this longitudinal view is where the most actionable insights emerge.

Blood Oxygen (SpO2)

The SpO2 card shows your most recent blood oxygen measurement. Tapping opens the history of all SpO2 measurements taken, plotted chronologically. Each measurement shows the date, time, and percentage reading. If automatic SpO2 monitoring is enabled (configurable in Device settings), you'll see multiple readings throughout the day and night; if on-demand only, you'll see just the measurements you manually triggered.

For most users, reviewing SpO2 data during illness or after exercise recovery is the primary use case. Looking for overnight patterns of low readings (below 94% repeatedly) in the historical view can be an indicator worth discussing with a GP.

Sleep

The sleep card shows last night's sleep quality score (0–100), total sleep duration, and a simplified stage breakdown. Tapping opens the detailed sleep analysis for last night, showing:

  • A visual timeline of your sleep stages across the night — light sleep (blue), deep sleep (dark blue or purple), REM sleep (green), and awake periods (white or light colour)
  • Total time in each stage with percentage of total sleep
  • Sleep onset time and final wake time
  • Number of significant wake periods during the night
  • Your sleep score with a brief explanation of what contributed to it

The weekly sleep view shows your sleep quality score for each of the past 7 nights as a bar chart, allowing you to spot patterns: consistently lower scores on specific days, correlation with late nights, or week-on-week trend improvement from lifestyle changes you've made.

Stress

The stress card shows your current stress score and a chart of how your stress level has varied across the day. A high stress score indicates elevated sympathetic nervous system activation (low HRV); a low score indicates good parasympathetic tone and recovery. The chart typically shows your stress varying across the day — lower in the morning after overnight recovery, potentially rising during work hours, and hopefully lower again in the evening as you wind down.

The weekly stress view is particularly useful for identifying patterns: chronically high stress scores across multiple days, or a systematic pattern of higher scores on specific days of the week that correlates with your work schedule or lifestyle habits.

The Activity Tab: Workout Analysis

The Activity tab is where your exercise sessions are stored and analysed. After completing a workout in a sports mode on your COLMI watch, the data syncs to the Activity tab during your next Bluetooth sync.

Workout Session Detail

Tapping any workout in the Activity history opens the detailed session view showing:

  • Session summary: Duration, calories burned, average and maximum heart rate, and activity type
  • Heart rate chart: Your heart rate plotted across the entire session, allowing post-workout analysis of how your effort varied. You can see pacing efforts, warm-up and cool-down, and any intensity spikes during the session.
  • Route map (GPS sessions only): Your GPS route plotted on a map, showing the path you took and allowing you to review where you went faster or slower
  • Pace chart (running/cycling): Your pace across the session plotted against time or distance, showing whether you ran positive or negative splits and where you slowed down or sped up
  • Heart rate zones: A breakdown of how much time you spent in each heart rate zone during the session — useful for confirming whether your intended training stimulus (Zone 2 for endurance, Zone 4 for threshold work) was actually achieved

Weekly Training Summary

The Activity tab's weekly summary shows your total active calories, workout count, and training time for the past 7 days. Tracking these weekly totals over months gives you a clear picture of whether your training volume is increasing, stable, or declining — one of the most important macro-level fitness monitoring functions the app provides.

The Device Tab: Configuring Your COLMI Watch

The Device tab is where you manage all settings for your connected COLMI watch or ring. This is the most powerful section of the app for customising your experience.

Watch Face Management

Tap Watch Face to access the watch face library. You can browse hundreds of downloadable faces across categories: digital, analogue, fitness-focused, minimalist, colourful, and themed. Face downloads are free. To set a new face: tap it to preview it on a simulated watch screen, then tap "Set as watch face" to push it to your device via Bluetooth. The transfer takes 10 to 30 seconds.

Battery tip: For AMOLED models (V72, V73, P82, i28 Ultra, M42, P86, etc.), choosing a dark-background watch face significantly extends battery life. Black pixels on AMOLED consume zero power, so a face with a predominantly black background uses noticeably less energy than a white or bright-background face.

Notification Settings

Tap Notification Reminder to configure which apps send notifications to your watch. A toggle is available for each notification-capable app installed on your phone. Best practice is to enable only the notifications that genuinely benefit from wrist delivery:

  • Enable: Phone calls, SMS, your primary messaging app (WhatsApp, iMessage, etc.)
  • Consider disabling: Social media, promotional apps, news apps, games — these create notification noise without meaningful wrist delivery value

Start with minimal notifications and add more only if you find yourself missing something important. Too many wrist notifications creates a distracting experience that reduces the watch's practical value.

Heart Rate Monitoring Settings

Tap Heart Rate Monitor (or similar label in your app version) to configure:

  • Monitoring frequency: Options typically include real-time continuous, every 1 minute, every 5 minutes, every 10 minutes. Every 5 minutes provides good data granularity with reasonable battery efficiency for most users.
  • High heart rate alert: Set a threshold (e.g., 150 bpm) above which the watch vibrates to alert you during rest. Useful for passive cardiovascular health monitoring.
  • Low heart rate alert: Set a lower threshold (e.g., 40 bpm) for bradycardia alerts. Adjust based on your personal resting heart rate — athletes with very low resting rates should set this lower to avoid false alerts.

Sedentary Reminder

Configure the sedentary reminder to vibrate if you haven't moved significantly within a set interval (typically 60 minutes). Alarm Settings

Add and manage alarms in the Alarm section. Alarms created in Da Fit sync to the watch and trigger vibration on the device independently of your phone. Multiple alarms can be set with different days of the week selected for repeating alarms. The vibration alarm is particularly useful for waking only one partner in a couple with different wake times.

Display Settings

Configure screen brightness, wake-up gesture sensitivity (how strongly you need to raise your wrist to activate the display), display duration (how long the screen stays on after activation), and always-on display toggle (if supported by your model). Reducing brightness and display duration are the most effective settings for extending battery life without meaningfully impacting usability.

Sports Modes

The Sports Modes section lets you reorder the sports modes displayed on your watch. Move your most-used modes to the top of the list (positions 1 and 2) so you can start a workout quickly without scrolling through 100 modes. Drag and drop to reorder modes in the Da Fit interface.

Do Not Disturb

Daily Goals

Set your daily step goal in the Goals section. Be realistic: if your current daily average is 5,000 steps, setting a 10,000-step goal creates daily failure experiences that are demotivating. A goal 1,000 to 2,000 steps above your current average builds success momentum. Revisit and increase the goal once you're consistently meeting it.

Health Data Sync

Da Fit allows you to export your health data from the Profile → Data Management section. Advanced Tips for Power Users

Creating Custom Health Reports

While Da Fit doesn't offer built-in custom report generation, you can take screenshots of weekly and monthly data views at regular intervals (monthly is practical) to create a personal health journal. Taking a monthly screenshot of your resting heart rate trend, sleep quality average, and step count average gives you a visual health record that's highly motivating when you see improvement over 3 to 6 months.

Combining Smart Ring and Smartwatch Data

If you use both a COLMI smartwatch and a COLMI smart ring (a popular combination for day/night monitoring), both devices connect to the same Da Fit account and their data is aggregated in the same app. Your smart ring's overnight sleep and HRV data combines with your smartwatch's daytime activity and workout data for a complete 24-hour health picture. Ensure only one device is active during sleep to avoid conflicting data — typically the ring for overnight monitoring and the watch during the day.

Using Da Fit Data at Your GP Appointment

Before a GP appointment for any cardiovascular, sleep, or stress-related concern, take screenshots of your relevant Da Fit data: resting heart rate trend (weekly or monthly view), sleep quality scores, SpO2 history if relevant, and stress score patterns. Sharing this objective data with your GP provides context that subjective description of symptoms alone cannot. GPs consistently report that wearable data — even from consumer devices — adds useful context when patients present with health concerns related to metrics their devices track.

Troubleshooting Common Da Fit Issues

Watch Not Syncing

If your watch stops syncing data to Da Fit: ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone; close and reopen the Da Fit app; check that Da Fit has not been force-stopped by your phone's battery optimisation settings (common on Android). On Android, add Da Fit to your phone's battery optimisation whitelist to prevent the system from killing the app background process.

Notifications Not Appearing on Watch

Check that notification access permission is granted to Da Fit in your phone's settings (Android: Settings → Apps → Special App Access → Notification Access → Da Fit; iPhone: Da Fit must have notification permission granted). Also ensure Do Not Disturb is not active on the watch during the period when you're not receiving notifications.

GPS Route Not Recorded

For phone-connected GPS tracking, ensure that location permission is set to "Always" (not "While using app") for Da Fit on both iOS and Android. Also ensure the Da Fit app is running in the background during your outdoor session — on some phones with aggressive battery management, the app may be killed during a long workout session. Adding Da Fit to your phone's battery whitelist prevents this.

Heart Rate Readings Seem Inaccurate

Ensure the watch is fitted snugly against the skin with the sensor in contact. For smart rings, ensure the ring is the correct size — a ring that's too loose moves on the finger and breaks sensor contact. Cold skin reduces peripheral blood flow and can degrade optical sensor accuracy; allow your hands to warm up before taking a resting heart rate reading if you've been in cold temperatures.

Getting the Most From Da Fit: A Weekly Routine

Building a simple weekly routine around your Da Fit data transforms the app from a passive data store into an active health monitoring tool:

  • Each morning (2 minutes): Check sleep score and morning stress score. Note any significant deviation from your personal average.
  • After each workout: Open Activity tab and review your session heart rate chart and zone distribution. Check whether your intended training stimulus (Zone 2, Zone 4, etc.) was actually achieved.
  • Weekly (10 minutes, Sunday evening): Review 7-day trends for resting heart rate, sleep quality average, weekly step total, and training volume. Note whether each is trending better, stable, or worse than the previous week. Identify one specific behaviour change for the coming week based on what the data shows.
